Effective date: 5 October 2026
This policy explains what happens to information when you play Sandcastle Tide (“the game”), a mobile puzzle game published by Muhammad Hazki Hariowibowo, trading as MHz Games (“we”, “us”).
The short version
- The game has no accounts, no login and no servers of its own, and never asks who you are.
- It sends no usage data or analytics of any kind. The only thing in the game that talks to the internet is Google’s advertising.
- Your level progress, your stars, your best Endless score and your sound setting are saved only on your own device, and may be included in your device’s own cloud backup if you use one. We cannot see them either way.
- The game shows ads supplied by Google AdMob. Google receives information from your device in order to serve those ads.
- If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you are asked to make a choice about ads the first time you play, and you can change it at any time from Privacy options in the main menu or the pause menu.
- The game is not directed to children under 13.
- There are no purchases in the game.
1. Information the game collects
Nothing that identifies you. The game has no accounts and never asks for your name, email address, contacts, location or anything similar.
It sends nothing to us. There is no analytics or crash-reporting service in the game, and it makes no network requests of its own. We do not know who plays it, how far they got, or how they play.
Data kept on your device
The game keeps a few small values in its private app storage so it can remember your progress between sessions:
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| The furthest level you have unlocked, and the stars you earned on each | So your progress survives closing the game |
| Your best score in Endless | So a record is kept |
| The sound setting | So the game opens the way you left it |
| A save-format number | So a future update can tell how your progress was saved |
These are in the app’s private storage area and are readable only by the game. We never receive them and have no way to access them — the game does not upload them anywhere.
They may, however, be included in your device’s own cloud backup. If Android automatic backup or iCloud Backup is switched on, your device may copy this app’s saved data into your personal cloud account, exactly as it does for other apps. That backup belongs to you and is handled by Google or Apple under their own policies, not by us. You can turn it off in your device’s settings.
Uninstalling the game, or clearing its data in your device’s settings, deletes these values from your device. A copy may remain in your own backup until that backup is replaced or you delete it.
2. Information collected by advertising
Sandcastle Tide shows advertisements supplied by Google AdMob. To do this, the Google Mobile Ads SDK is included in the game and communicates directly with Google’s servers.
Google may receive and process information including your device’s advertising identifier, IP address, device type and operating system, general location derived from your IP address, and how you interacted with an ad. We do not receive this information. We see only aggregate, anonymous reports — for example, how many ads were shown in total.
How Google uses this data is governed by Google’s own policies:
- Google Privacy Policy — https://policies.google.com/privacy
- How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services — https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
Whether the ads you see are personalised depends on the choice you make in the consent prompt described in section 3, and on your device’s own settings.
There are two kinds of ad in the game, and they behave differently. An interruption ad appears now and then between levels or when you start a new Endless run, never during play and never more often than every minute or so. A rewarded ad is never shown unless you ask for it — it is the one behind the AD tag on a button: a hint, an extra rewind after a lost tide, carrying on an Endless run after a tower falls, or skipping a level.
3. Your choices
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, the game shows a consent form the first time you play, provided by Google’s User Messaging Platform. Your answer determines whether the ads you see are personalised.
You can change your answer at any time from Privacy options, in the main menu and in the pause menu. That button appears wherever a consent choice applies to you.
On any device, you can also limit ad tracking through your device’s own settings:
- Android — Settings → Privacy → Ads, where you can reset or delete your advertising ID
- iOS — Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising
To wipe what the game has saved, clear the app’s data in your device’s settings, or uninstall the game.
4. Children
Sandcastle Tide is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Our declared target audience with the app stores reflects this.
If you believe a child has provided personal information through the game, please contact us at the address below and we will act on it.
5. Data retention
We hold no data about you, so there is nothing for us to retain. Data stored on your device stays there until you clear the app’s data or uninstall. Data held by Google as an advertising partner is retained according to Google’s own policies, linked in section 2.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, or to object to it. We do not hold any personal data about you; the game’s saved progress stays on your device, where you can delete it yourself as described in section 3. For data Google processes to serve ads, use the controls in section 3 or Google’s own tools.

7. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version is published at this address and its effective date at the top is updated. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s store listing release notes.
